OSCEOLA - Services for James Gibson,
81, of 55655 Krause Road, who died at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday in
Americana Healthcare Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in
Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral
home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
Mr. Gibson was a section hand for New York
Central Railroad and B & 0 Railroad and retired in 1970 from
Toppers Mobile Home Manufacturing Co., Mottville, Mich. He was
born Sept. 12, 1912, in Carter County, Ky., and lived in Osceola
for 50 years, coming from LaGrange.
On Jan. 17, 1940, in LaGrange County, he
married Amy Hart. She survives, with four daughters,
Bonnie Lewandowski of Wolcottville, Constance A. Cowan
and Rebecca Chambers, both of South Bend, and Rita Shoemaker
of Elkhart; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Gibson
Tallmidge of Mishawaka; and a brother, Forrest of Mishawaka. He
was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mishawaka Conseravation
Club, and Moose Lodge.
