Antonia Giannuzzi

Antonia Giannuzzi, 90, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 14, in Fountainview Place in Mishawaka, Ind.

 

She was born on Jan. 29, 1913, in Conversano (Bari), Italy, to her parents, Gionvanni and Antonia Stanisci. She married Ralph Giannuzzi in Italy, and they came to the United States, Ellis Island, in January 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in January 1973; her parents; a brother, Nino Stanisci of Mishawaka; and by two sisters of Conversano, Italy, Maria and an infant sister.

 

As a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she will be forever missed and remembered in all our hearts. She was greatly loved by her daughter, Mary (Darwin) Boutiette, their children, Andraea Boutiette and Damien Boutiette, all of Minnetonka, Minn.; her son, John Nick (Suzanne) Giannuzzi Sr., their children, Gina (Mike) Marchi of Mishawaka, John Nick (Cheryl) Giannuzzi Jr. of Noblesville, Ind., and Jeffrey (Michelle) Giannuzzi of Mishawaka; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Randy) Teague, Nicholas Marchi, Antonio Marchi, Angelina Marchi, Dominic Giannuzzi and Vincenzo Giannuzzi, all of Mishawaka, and Jessica Giannuzzi and Jennifer Giannuzzi of Noblesville; three great-great-grandchildren, Brianna, Ashton and Justin of Mishawaka. She is also survived by two sisters, Josephine Serge of Mishawaka, Lina (Domenico) Fanizzi of Italy; and by a sister-in-law, Lina Stanisci of Mishawaka.

 

Many thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Fountainview Place, where she had resided for the past 10 years.

 

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 19, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Dec. 20, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating.

 

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the services in Hahn Funeral Home.
