Sister Antoine Marie Gianinno CSC, 77, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday in the convent. She was born Antoinette Gianinno on Sept. 6, 1914 in Elkhart, Ind. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Feb. 2, 1934; was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1934; and professed her vows Aug.15, 1936. She served as an elementary school teacher at the former St. Joseph Academy; St. Joseph Grade School; Christ the King Grasde School, all in South Bend, and at schools in Elkhart; Plymouth; Fort Wayne, Valparaiso; Flint, Mich.; and in Illinois. She retired to the convent in 1986.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, both at St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the convent where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
