Nilah G. Geyer, 73, of Redwood
Court, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 3:02 a.m. early Tuesday
morning, April 10, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South
Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Geyer was born on Aug. 8, 1927,
in Wakarusa, Ind., as the daughter of the late James and Flossa (Mishler)
Penney. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Laura
Pfeiffer.
On June 30, 1946, in Wakarusa, as
the former Nilah G. Penney, she married H. Eugene
"Gene" Geyer. Mrs. Geyer is survived by her husband of
54 years, Gene; three daughters, Kathryn (Stephen) Ell of South
Bend, Kimberly (Joel) Emery of Granger, Ind., and Kelly (Todd) Leniski
of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (DeMarco) Doxie,
Joshua Ell, Matthew Emery, Kathryn Robertson, Rachel Emery,
Rachel Leniski, David Emery, Kara Leniski and Anna Leniski; three
great-grandchildren, Dylan Boyce, Trey Doxie and Patrick Doxie.
Mrs. Geyer adored her grandchildren and they loved her dearly.
She is also survived by a sister, Marilyn Mathews of Ionia, Mich.
She was a 1945 graduate of Wakarusa
High School. Mrs. Geyer was employed by the Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation
Center for 10 years, and retired from the Associates in South
Bend. After her retirement she enjoyed the winter months in Florida.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m.
on Thursday, April 12th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th
Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on
Friday, April 13th, in the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka,
where friends may also call a half-hour prior to the services.
Rev. Lorin Clemenz will officiate and burial will follow at Olive
Cemetery, Elkhart, Ind.
