MISHAWAKA – Mrs. James L. Gerstbauer,
67, of Ireland Road, a resident of this vicinity all her
lifetime, died at 10:55 a.m. Monday in Osteopathic Hospital,
South Bend. She had been ill about a week.
She was born south of Mishawaka and as
Ernestine Myers she married Mr. Gerstbauer Jan. 20, 1923,
in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, South Bend. Mrs.
Gerstbauer taught at the Lincoln School, South Bend for 15 years.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, James E. Gerstbauer, of Rt.
2, and Bernard Gerstbauer of South Bend; one daughter, Mrs. David
D. Towner of South Bend and one sister, Miss Otilla Myers
of Mishawaka.
The deceased was a member of the Daughters
of Isabella and the Rosary Sodality.
Friends may call at the Thallemer Funeral
Home after 7 p.m. today and until the funeral services at 10:15
a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Curt A.
Suetzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph
Valley Memorial Park. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home.
