Sybille Germano

Sybille Germano passed away peacefully from a prolonged illness on Sunday, June 13, in South Bend, Ind. She was 59 years old. Sybille was born in Steinhoering, Germany, on Jan 18, 1945, to Heinz and Lilo Waizenegger, and moved to the South Bend area in 1957.

She was a real estate broker for 14 years in South Bend, then the owner of Germano's Restaurant on Main Street in Mishawaka, Ind. She retired from St. Paul's Retirement Community this past spring, where she was a cook. Sybille was a loveable person who cherished her six grandchildren above all else. She treasured her animals and greatly missed her bird and her black lab in her illness. She was an excellent cook and loved to serve her German specialties for her restaurant patrons and family. She spoke often of her childhood in post-war Germany, and her experiences coming to America.

She is survived by her husband, Dominic; her sons, Jason Germano, Marc and Steve Wimmer; and her brother, Uwe Waizenegger; as well as her six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka.
