SOUTH BEND Mrs. Helen R. Gerbold,
70, of 1965 N. Brookfield, died at 5 p.m. Friday in the Green
Springs Manor Nursing Home after as extended illness. She had
suffered from Lou Gerhigs Disease. A retired legal
secretary, she was born Dec. 6, 1912 in South Bend and lived here
all her life.
She was married on Oct. 2, 1937 in South
Bend, to William E. Gerbold who survives. Also surviving are a
daughter, Mrs. Marcia Kling of Niles; a son Bruce, of
Bardsville, Okla.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Dragon
of Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Betty Dygert of Tucson,
Ariz.; and three brothers, Raymond, Clarence and Herbert Klockow,
all of South Bend.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
Welscheimer Funeral Home with Rev. Otus Rupe, interim pastor of
Memorial Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in
Riverview Masoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday in the funeral home. She was a member of the Eastern Star,
Chapter 2 and Memorial Presbyterian Church. Memorial
contributions may be made to the church.
