Francis J. Gerard, 82, of Jefferson
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1,
in his residence. He was born in Mishawaka on Aug. 14, 1915, to
William and Mary (Kile) Gerard, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
He married the former Elizabeth "Betty" Eberhart
in Mishawaka on July 18, 1942.
Francis is survived by his wife Betty; two daughters, Suzanne
Gerard and Jill (William) Hedl, both of Mishawaka, five
grandchildren, Heather and Adam Howard, Carrie, Joshua and
Jason Hedl; two sisters, Evelyn Mallory of Norfolk, Va.,
and Elizabeth Loos of Elkhart, Ind.; a brother, Chester
Gerard of South Whitley, Ind.; and by his mother-in-law, Adeline
Eberhart of Mishawaka.
He retired in 1980 from American Tool & Die after 43 years of
service. Francis belonged to the International Association of
Machinists & Aerospace Workers District # 103.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb
Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where
funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with Rev.
Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice
House.
