MISHAWAKA Charles R. Gerard,
56, of 1916 Linden Avenue, was dead on arrival at St. Joseph
Hospital at 5:30 a.m. today where he had been taken suffering an
apparent heart attack in his home. He was a retired real estate
broker and had been a resident of Mishawaka most of his lifetime.
He was born Dec. 9, 1916 in Wilmont, Ind. and came to Mishawaka
with his parents in 1917.
On May 29, 1944 he married Miss Ruth Schindler
of Mishawaka in San Luis Ray Mission, Calif. He was a veteran of
World War II and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law
School. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the
Mishawaka Rotary Club and Mishawaka Aerie 2803, Fraternal Order
of Eagles. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Ronald C. of
Lancaster, Ohio and Richard C., a student at Ball State
University, Muncie; a daughter, Cherie Marie, at home; a brother
James of Mishawaka, and a sister, Mrs. Eugene Gleissner of
Prairie Village, Kan.
Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals
Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
Wednesday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St.
Joseph Catholic Church. Msgr. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will
officiate and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Assoc., South Bend.
