Betty J. George, 75, of 216 Palu Avenue, Mishawaka, Indiana, died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2006, in Fountainview Place in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born July 31, 1930, in Buchanan, Michigan, to William E. and Ruby (Smith) James.

She married Paul N. George September 3, 1949, in Smiths Valley, Indiana. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Sandra (David) Combs of Mishawaka; two sons, Paul N. (Charlene) George Jr. of Brookville, Ind., and Richard J. George of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren, Rachel, Jason and Jeremiah George, all of Brookville, Ind., and Joshua and Zach Carew of Mishawaka; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nedra (Tom) Wesson of Goshen, Ind., and Mattie (Michael) Cihak of Culver, Ind.; and a brother, Robert L. (Bonnie) James of Mishawaka, Ind. Mrs. George retired in 1982 from Hooks Drug Store, Twin Branch, where she worked in the pharmacy.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Reverend Richard Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
