SOUTH BEND - Reuben Gentner, 82, of
Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of East Madison Street, died at 1:45
a.m. Friday at Sun Rise Hospital, Las Vegas. Mr. Gentner was
owner and partner of Gentner Packing Co., where he was also the
head cattle buyer. He was born Feb. 7, 1913, in South Bend, and
lived most of his life in this area.
On June 28, 1941, in South Bend, he married
Ellen Carpenter. She survives with a daughter, Lynn Morris
of Long Grove, Ill.; a son, David of Las Vegas; two
grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two brothers; Abe M. of
South Bend and Max of Granger. He was a member of B'nai B'rith
and Oaks Lodge 235.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Forest
G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Burial will in Hebrew
Orthodox Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial
contributions may be made to Sinai Synagogue.
