OSCEOLA - Heather Anne Genovese, 20, passed away Monday in Ft.
Wayne at her college apartment where she attended Indiana Purdue
Ft. Wayne (IPFW). Heather was born in Lansing, MI, on October 6,
1989, to Paul F. and Mary J. (Clancy) Genovese, who both survive
of Osceola. Other survivors include her sister, Lynnalison
Shannon of Roswell, GA; her brother, Michael R. Genovese of
Osceola; her paternal grandfather, Peter P. (Joyce) Genovese of
Jacksonville, FL; her paternal step-grandfather, Al Ferguson of
Benton Harbor, MI; her paternal great-grandfather, Paul Sineni of
Dowagiac, MI; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Heather
was a four-year varsity letter winner on the PENN High School
softball team and member of the Class of 2008. She was a
sophomore student athlete at IPFW on a softball scholarship and
was an Academic Honors Student majoring in educational
psychology. While at Discovery Middle School she received the
Pride, Hustle, Desire Award. Heather will be remembered for: her
beautiful smile, vivacious personality, fun-loving spirit,
determination, her loyalty to family and friends, as well as for
her gifted athletic ability. A celebration of Heather's life will
be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the McGann Hay, Granger
Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Road), Rev. Mark Waltz of
Granger Community Church officiating. Friends may call Friday
from 4-8 PM and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM before the
funeral. She will be laid to rest following services at Fairview
Cemetery, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to: the PENN Athletic Dept., c/o Softball Coach Beth Zachary so a
college scholarship for a softball player in Heather's name can
be established; or to the IPFW Athletic Dept., c/o Softball Coach
