Sister Mary Beatricia CSC, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died Monday afternoon in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend after an illness of several months. She had taught at St. Hedwige’s School in South Bend, and in LaPorte, East Chicago and Elkhart, as well as several schools in Illinois and Michigan. Her last assignment was in Peoria, Ill. She was born Mary Magdelene Gembarsewska in South Bend in 1899. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1922, received the habit that same year, and made her profession of vows in 1927.

The requiem mass will be at 6 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto and burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the St. Mary’s campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
