Sister Rose Bernard CSC, 43, died Monday night at Toomiliah, the Holy Cross mission post in Dacca district of Bengal, India. She died on Aug. 15, the 13th anniversary of her profession as a nun.  She was born Bernadette Gehring Oct. 26, 1894 and she attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy, South Bend. She received her B. A. from the University of Notre Dame. She was professed as a nun at St. Mary’s in 1925. She had lived in South Bend from the age of seven until she joined the Holy Cross order in 1920.

Funeral and burial were in India.
