SOUTH BEND - Services for Franklin
Donnell Gatson, 29, of Indianapolis, formerly of South Bend,
who was found dead about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in an alley on the
west side of Indianapolis, according to published reports, will
be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9
p.m. today in Alford's Mortuary. Homicide investigators and
officials from the Marion County coroner's office are
investigating the death.
Mr. Gatson was employed by Autoliv Corp.,
Indianapolis. He was born Dec. 16, 1964, in Marvel, Ark., and
lived in South Bend until nine months ago, when he moved to
Indianapolis. On Jan. 13, 1990, in East St. Louis, Ill., he
married Pamela Austin. She survives, with two daughters,
Ashley Gatson of San Mateo, Calif., and Brittany Ellis of
Germany; a son, Franklin D. Jr. of Indianapolis; two sisters,
Sheila Gatson and Donna Gatson, both of South Bend; and a
maternal grandmother, Vergie Patterson of South Bend. He
was a veteran of the Army.
