Betty Lou (Bannon) Gaskill, 76, of
Beckley Street, Granger, Ind., passed away of natural causes on
Thursday, Dec. 14, in her home. Betty was born on Oct. 1, 1924,
in Kingsley, Iowa. On Feb. 20, 1947, Betty married Eston H.
Gaskill in Jimtown, Ind. Mr. Gaskill survives. She is also
survived by her sons, Larry D. Gaskill and his wife, Sharron of
LaPorte, Ind., Donald E. Gaskill and his wife, Mary Ann of
Mishawaka, Ind.; daughters, Sharon Moews and her husband, Tony of
Normandy, Tenn., and Cheryl Gaskill and her companion, Judy McGuire
of Osceola, Ind.; five brothers, Robert McDonald, Woodrow
McDonald, Ronnie McDonald and Benny McDonald, all of Oklahoma,
and William Bannon of Highland, Ind.; sisters, Modean Beck,
Betty Jo Collins, Nedra Broege and Billie Jo
McDonald, all of Oklahoma; and by eight grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert
Gaskill; and by a sister, Mary Louise Gordon. Mrs. Gaskill
began working as a nurse's aide in the Osteopathic Hospital in
South Bend, and later moved into the Central Supply Department,
working for 21 years and retiring in 1987.
Visitation for Betty will be held from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, in the Chapel Hill Funeral
Home, Osceola. Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on
Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with interment
to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial
donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
