Feb. 7, 1941 - Feb. 9, 2010MISHAWAKA - Judith Kay (Selis) Garreffa, 69, passed away on Wednesday, February 9th, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Judy was born on February 7, 1941, in Elkhart, to Frans and Wilma (Matis) Selis. She was preceded in death by her parents. On April 30, 1983, in Osceola, as Judy Selis, she married Mike Garreffa. Surviving are her husband, Mike; a brother, Jack (Sharon) Selis of Mishawaka; niece, Jennifer (Kevin Van Paemel) Selis; nephew, Matthew (Kimberly) Selis; and great-nieces and nephews, Jarrett, Hannah, Grace, Heidi and Paige. Judy attended Indiana University and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Fort Wayne. She was a registered nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka for 20 years and University of Michigan Hospital for seven years. She was in the Cardiac Unit and was a surgical nurse at both hospitals. Judy retired early to take loving care of her parents, her mother just passing away in September 1, 2009.
