Robert H. Garlanger, 68, of Academy
Place, South Bend, Ind., died following an illness at 10:48 p.m.
on Friday, Feb. 23, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Garlanger was born
on Jan. 22, 1933, to Leland A. and Inez (Hoffman)
Garlanger, and was a lifetime area resident.
On Jan. 12, 1952, in South Bend, he married
Joan Hollin, who survives. Also surviving are two
daughters, Charlotte (Rick) Koelndorfer of Mishawaka, Ind., and
Pamela (Roger) Davis of South Bend; one son, Robert L.
"Buzz" Garlanger of Niles, Mich.; seven grandchildren,
Jennifer Bukrajewski, Gretchen Cook, Richard Koelndorfer
Jr., Heather, Rachel and Brian Davis, and Kyle Garlanger; two
great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Ashley Bukrajewski; one sister,
Helen (Alex) Kulcsar of South Bend; one brother, Ralph
(Margaret) Lauver of South Bend; a half sister, Bette Emerick
of Osceola, Ind.; and a half brother, Leland Garlanger of Texas.
Mr. Garlanger retired as a lab technician from Uniroyal after 38
years service. He had most recently worked for Paramount Plastics
in Elkhart.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N.
William Street, with Rev. George Reed officiating. Burial will
follow at New Carlisle Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
today in the funeral home.
