John W. Gard

November 10, 1874 – May 26, 1950

John W. Gard, aged 75, a farmer of Maple Road, rural route No 1, South Bend, died in his home 2:30am today after several years’ illness with a heart ailment.

He was born in Greene Township, this county, November 10, 1874, and lived his life in this vicinity.  He was married in 1903 to Mary E. Snyder, of Plymouth IN, who survives. 

He leaves also a son, Eldon, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Allen Kane, North Liberty, this county; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Benjamin and Charles Gard, North Liberty; and a sister, Miss Mary Ellen Gard, of rural route No. 1.  The body is in the Hartman Funeral Home in Lakeville, this county.
