SOUTH BEND - Joey J. Gardini, 50, died Wednesday, March 14, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his mother, Mary (Medich) Gardini of South Bend; sisters, Maria L. Jaroszewski of South Bend; and four brothers, Dino, Fred, Silvio and Reggie, all of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mathew's Cathedral. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka.

SOUTH BEND - Joey J. Gardini, 50, of South Bend, passed away in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, on March 14, 2007, at 4:45 a.m. Joey was born on January 13, 1957, to Mary (Medich) Gardini and Fred Armondo Gardini.

Survivors include his mother, Mary (Medich) Gardini; a sister, Lana (Jim) Jaroszewski; and four brothers, Fred, Silvio, Reg and Dino, all of South Bend. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

After graduating Riley High School in 1975, he joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1979. He then attended IUSB. He was an avid sports fan, notably the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He loved music, loved to dance and to play his harmonica. He enjoyed playing softball, baseball, basketball and some golf.
