MISHAWAKA – Dante V. Gardini, 61, of 201 W. 6th Street, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a six-month illness. He was born in Logansport on Aug. 7, 1911 and came to Mishawaka from that city in 1923.

In Mishawaka he married Clara A. Baldini on June 27, 1936, and she survives, in addition to two sons, Ronald C. of Washington DC, and Gary L. at home; a brother Fred Gardini of South Bend; two sisters, Mrs. August Gasperoni of Mishawaka and Mrs. Frank Barnes of Detroit, Mich.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and until the time of services in the DeVos Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvangia, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral chapel at 7:30 Thursday.
