Services for Brother Matthew Gara CSC, 76, of Dujarie House at Holy Cross Junior College, Notre Dame, who died there at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be Monday in St. Joseph Center, Valantie, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Valatie.

He was born Oct. 25, 1910 in Philadelphia. He is survived by two cousins. He became a novice in the Congregation of Holy Cross on July 1, 1931, and professed his vows July 2, 1932. He served as a missionary in Bangladesh (then Bengal, India); a teacher at Cathedral High School, Indianapolis; an assistant novice master at Rolling Prairie, Ind.
