Hazar Garabedian

SOUTH BEND - Hazar Garabedian, 87, of Cushing Street, died at 12:55 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Garabedian retired in 1981 from Oxian Brothers Carpet and Furniture Cleaning Co. He was born March 20, 1907, in Rodosto, Turkey, and had lived in South Bend since 1959, coming from Romania.

In 1949, in Budapest, he married Evghenia Cobilian. She survives with a sister, Kayane Oxian, a niece, Makrouhi Oxian, and two nephews, John Oxian and Sahag Oxian, all of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church.
