SOUTH BEND - Dionisio "Pancho" Gallegos, 76, passed
away at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009, in his home with
his family by his side. Dionisio was born on December 6, 1933, in
Hildago, TX, to the late Cristoval and Tomasa (Soto) Gallegos. He
was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Daniel and
Viviano Gallegos, and by his two sisters, Virginia Bandin and
Consuelo Rodriguez. On June 17, 1967, in South Bend, he married
Elma Ramirez, who survives along with their children, Ana Maria
Gallegos of South Bend, Christopher (Kim) Gallegos of Elkhart and
Reymundo Jose (Laura) Gallegos of Houston, TX; three
grandchildren, Christopher Gallegos Jr., Megan and Daniel
Gallegos; his sister, Maria Concepcion Vega of Phoenix, AZ; and
by his brother, Luis (Sandra) Gallegos of South Bend. Pancho
worked for Ziolkowski Construction for 25 years. He was a man who
loved and cared for his family. He was a parishioner of St.
Adalbert Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today,
Dec. 21, 2009, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road,
where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on December 22, 2009, in St.
Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove
Cemetery, Notre Dame. For those who are unable to attend the
funeral Mass, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
