Sister Mary Rupert
CSC, died Saturday evening in the mother house of the Sisters of
Holy Cross at St. Mary’s College after a long illness. She
was assigned to St. Joseph Hospital for many years and spent her
last 30 years at the mother house.
She was born Cecilia
Galkowska in Poland in 1872. She came to this country after being
educated in Poland and entered the community in 1894, taking her
final vows in 1900.
A Requiem High Mass
will be sung at 6 a.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of
Loretto. Burial will be in the Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
