SOUTH BEND - Bernard P. Fye Sr., 78, of Dubail Street, died Tuesday evening after an illness in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Fye retired as car dealership driver. He was born May 20, 1918, in South Bend. He is survived by a companion, Nina Anderson, with whom he made his home; two daughters, Vickie Mann and Garnet Bentley, both of South Bend; two sons, Bernard P. Jr. of South Bend and Grover of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was a veteran.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Editor: On 4-26-1947 he married Mary Hale in St. Joseph County IN.
