MISHAWAKA - Marion E. Futterknecht, 81, of Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, formerly of Taylor Street, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the health care center. Mrs. Futterknecht was born Aug. 9, 1913, in Mishawaka, and was a lifelong area resident. On Jan. 9, 1930, in Mishawaka, as Marion E. Vincent, she married Joseph Futterknecht. He died Oct. 1, 1980. She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Hart of Mishawaka and Carol Anastasio of Granger; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Schmitt of Mishawaka. She was a member of Harvest House and Rosary Society, both of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a REAL Services volunteer.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Grade School.
