NORTH LIBERTY - Ted Frank Fujawa Jr., 69, was born Oct. 8,
1938, to the late Tadeusz "Ted" and Kathryn (Lewanski)
Fujawa, with two brothers, the late Joseph Fujawa and surviving
brother, Philip (Peggy) Fujawa of New Hampshire. While he was
recuperating from a knee surgery at Saint Joseph Hospital of
Mishawaka, Ted passed away on the evening of Friday, February 15,
2008.
He is survived by his wife, Arleen J.M. (Ross)
Fujawa of 48 years; a daughter, Bernice (John) Comer of
Granger; sons, Ted Fujawa III, John (Michelle Stephenson)
Fujawa and Mark Fujawa; six grandchildren, Krystie and Dalton
Comer, Sabrina and Kenzi Fujawa, Mason and Kaylynn Stephenson; a
nephew, Philip Jr. (Kathleen) Fujawa; and nieces, Emily (Padraic)
McCoy; great-niece Rose; and by Jessica and Cindra Bajwa,
his goddaughters.
He was a proud American and served in the
Army during the Korean War. He retired from Uniroyal after 28
years. He later took a job at the Morris Park Country Club. He
was an associate member of the F.O.P. #36, and the National
Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, WI. Ted was also an
active member at the American Legion Post #365 of North Liberty.
He served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's of the
Assumption Church for 15 years and later joined Saint Stanislaus
Kostka Church.
Visitation will be on Tuesday (today),
February 19, 2008, from 2 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME,
824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed
at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka
Catholic Church, 55756 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, IN, with final
visitation one hour prior to the church service. He will be laid
to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery and immediately following there
will be a wake at 308 Reed St., North Liberty, IN, American
Legion Post #365. Memorial contributions may be made to the
family.
