LAKEVILLE - Lois E. "Tootie" Fuchs, 90, of
Lakeville, IN, passed away following a short illness at 6 a.m. on
Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, in Southfield Village. She was born March
23, 1918, in Lakeville, IN, to William and Daisy Frick,
and had been a lifelong area resident. On June 26, 1937, in
Corunna, IN, she married John Fuchs, who preceded her in death on
February 23, 2003. Tootie is survived by a son, Larry R. (Susan)
Fuchs of Bremen, IN; a daughter, Shirley (Dallas) Bennett
of Lakeville, IN; five grandchildren, Kevin Fuchs, Kent Fuchs,
Karla Flynn, Lori Wallace and Lee Bennett; one
step-granddaughter, Molly Asherman; 11
great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clayton "Pete"
Frick of Lakeville, IN. Five brothers, Lyle, Iden, Dick, Dale and
John, and three sisters, Kathryn, Mildred and Helen, preceded her
in death. Tootie was a hard-working homemaker. She loved making
meals for everyone; her Swiss steak was the "favorite."
She never wanted you to leave when you visited. Tootie played on
the basketball team at Lakeville High School, from which she
graduated in 1936. She was a member of the former Lakeville
Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 7, in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Lois E.
