Mary Frucci, 81, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Niles, Mich., passed away after an illness at 6:05 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, in Hospice House, South Bend.
Mary was born on June 26, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., as the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Lococo) Sotille. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Jo Frucci; three sisters, Josephine Cusentino, Francis Logalbo and Jean Sorci; and by a brother, Nick Sotille.
Mary was the former wife of Frank Frucci II; they were married in Chicago. Mary is survived by two sons, Michael (Patty) Frucci of Noblesville, Ind., and Frank (Susan) Frucci III of Granger; three grandchildren, Melissa (Jerry) Glasser, Michael Jr. and Gabriel Frucci; and by two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Hanna Rose Glasser.
Mary was the co-owner of Franky's Restaurant in Niles for 45 years and retired in 1990. She was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Niles.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Sept. 28, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating.
Burial will follow at Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles. Contributions in memory of Mary may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437.
