SOUTH BEND - Mary Ann Frisz, 80, of South Bend, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010, in Hospice House, South Bend. She was born on March 12, 1929, to the late James and Gizella (Horvath) Fokey. On June 17, 1950, she married Thomas G. Frisz, who survives. Mary Ann is also survived by two daughters, Christine (Michael) Elliott of Plymouth, Indiana, and Jeanne (Joe) Kaniewski of South Bend; two sons, Thomas E. (Susan) Frisz of South Bend and Donald (Janet) Frisz of Scottsberg, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Ella Riffel of South Bend. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David; and two brothers, James and Joseph Fokey. Mary Ann was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. She was an avid gardener and was talented in making artistic crafts. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. A memorial Mass for Mary Ann will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010, in Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 S.R. 933, South Bend.
