SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth E. Friccius, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 22, in Hamilton Grove, New Carlisle. Elizabeth was born on March 14, 1917, in Nottawa Township, St. Joseph County, MI, as the daughter of Joseph E. and Emma Murle (Culp) Olney. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Edward, Robert and Joseph Olney. On November 14, 1941, as Elizabeth Olney, she married William Arehart. He preceded her in death. On June 12, 1972, in South Bend, she married George Friccius, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1977. Surviving Elizabeth are her daughter, Patricia Haas of South Bend; and a grandson, Daniel Haas of Mishawaka. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a school teacher for 22 years. She taught in Fort Wayne, Michigan and South Bend before she retired in 1973. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and the Retired Teachers Association of Indiana.
