SOUTH BEND - Reathel Mary French, 80, of South Bend,
passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Fountainview Place of
Mishawaka. She was born on August 3, 1926, in Hanna, Indiana, to
the late Oarton and Grace (Doll) Adams. Reathel was
a graduate of Wilson High School.
On December 27, 1946, she married the love
of her life, Richard Herman French. Reathel loved to travel with
her husband and especially enjoyed going to Disney World. She had
worked as a librarian at Holy Family Catholic School for four
years. She is survived by her loving family: her husband, Richard
Herman French; her daughter, Dawn R. French (fiancé Frank Ogorek)
of South Bend; her son, Richard R. (Fran) French of Humble,
Texas; two grandsons, Chris (Lynne) French and Jon French; her
great-granddaughter, Emily French, and great-grandson, Luke
French. Reathel was preceded in death by her parents, and by her
brother, Oarton H. Adams Jr.
Friends may visit with her family on
Thursday, June 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family
Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. A funeral
service will be held Friday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in the funeral
home, with Chaplain Titus Matemavi officiating. Burial will
follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In loving memory of Reathel,
memorial contributions may be made to The Memorial and Honor
Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude
Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
