OSCEOLA - Kent Lee Frederick, 81, of Osceola, passed away
on Saturday, September 13, 2008, in his residence surrounded by
his loving family. Kent was born on April 22, 1927, in Elkhart
County, to the late Ralph and Josie Belle (Carden)
Frederick. Kent is survived by his companion of over 30 years,
Margaret Umbaugh of Osceola. He is also survived by his
eight children, Jon Frederick of Mishawaka, David (Desiree)
Frederick of South Bend, Scott Frederick of Westville, IN,
Cynthia Grantham of Mishawaka, Kim Easly of South Bend,
Shelly Bright of Mishawaka, Carrie (Kelly) Ullery
of Chain of Lakes, IN, and Michelle (Tom) Gaby of Osceola.
Kent was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather to 17
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Kent graduated from
Mishawaka High in 1945. Kent then served his country in the
United States Navy during W.W.II and received an honorable
discharge on July 20, 1946. Kent retired from Indiana Bell as a
cable repairman after 36 years of service. Kent enjoyed his
retirement; he became a person who was gifted with working with
his hands by doing woodworking and tinkering with antique cars.
Kent will be missed by those who truly loved him.
Kent's wishes were for him to be cremated.
There will be no service. Bubb Funeral Chapel assisted the family
with the arrangements.
