SOUTH BEND - Louise Franklin, 80, of South Bend, died May 2,
2010, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Louise was born
February 19, 1930, to the late Henry and Corrine (Sanders)
Watson. Surviving are her children, Betty Franklin of Madison,
WI, Denise Franklin, Larry Franklin, Linda (Timothy) Green,
Evette "Penny" (Terry) Franklin-Ford, Joseph Williams,
Jomisha Williams, and Jokeyia Williams, all of South Bend. Also
surviving are 17 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 3
great grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Dorothy Bridges and
Margaret Nickson. Louise was preceded in death by her grandson,
and her great granddaughter. Visitation will be held one hour
prior to the 1 pm Funeral Service Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the
St. Paul Bethel Baptist Church, 621 Lindsey Avenue, South Bend,
Indiana 46616. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens in Osceola. Louise was employed in food service for many
years at Sunnybrook Nursing Home, the University of Notre Dame,
and Memorial Hospital. She was also a Foster Mother for St.
Joseph County for over 30 years, as well as a bus aide for the
Logan Center of South Bend. Louise attended Maranatha Missionary
Baptist Church in South Bend, where she sang in the choir for
many years, and served on the Church's Missionary board. One of
her favorite things to do was to host dinner for her children and
family on Sunday afternoons. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed
spending time in prayer, both for her family and others, and
watching Western movies. In her memory, contributions may be made
to Maranatha Missionary Baptist Church, 328 N. Olive Street,
