MISHAWAKA - Douglas Lee Franklin, 58, of Mishawaka, passed
away on Sunday in Hospice House, South Bend. Doug was born on
June 4, 1949, in Florence, Alabama, as the son of Cleo and
Kathleen (White) Franklin. He was preceded in death by his
father; a son, Troy Michael Franklin; his stepmother, V. Ruth
Franklin; a stepbrother, Perry Lawson; a sister-in-law,
Ellie Lawson; his stepfather, Vernon Hinton; and his
father-in-law, Robert Walter Jaronik.
On July 31, 1982, in Batesville, Arkansas,
Doug married Sheryl Jaronik. Surviving are his wife,
Sheryl; a son, Adam Franklin of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter,
Tiffany; his mother, Kathleen Hinton of Florence, AL;
mother-in-law, Mary Jane Jaronik of Mishawaka; a sister-in-law,
Deborah (Ron) Seagert of Atlanta, GA; a brother-in-law,
Robert (Kim) Jaronik of South Bend; and many cousins, nieces and
nephews. Doug worked as a union painter with Local 1118 (District
Council 91), South Bend. He was a veteran of the United States
Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War.
A memorial service will be on Friday, Dec.
21, at 11 a.m., with visitation two hours prior in the Hahn
Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry
England officiating.
