Esther Alice Frangella

NEW CARLISLE - Esther Alice Frangella, 71, of Hudson Lake in New Carlisle, IN, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. She was born on September 27, 1936, to the late Anthony and Helen (Kopaczewski) Kazmierczak in Chicago, IL, and had lived at Hudson Lake for the past 12 years, coming from Mobile, AL. Along with her parents, one grandson and three brothers also preceded her in death. Mrs. Frangella was self-employed for many years, providing residential cleaning and caregiving to some of her dearest friends.

 

On April 18, 1959, as Esther Alice Kazmierczak, she married Peter Louis Frangella in Chicago, IL. He died on November 22, 2000. She is survived by her four daughters, Cathy (Mark) Taylor of Three Rivers, MI, Connie (Steven) Peters of Posen, MI, Marian (Charles) Becnel of Garyville, LA, and Paula (Drew) Madere of Mobile, AL; two sons, Peter Louis Frangella Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, and Carmine (Michelle) Frangella of Norco, LA; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Arendt of New Carlisle, IN, and MaryAnn (Frank) Truschke of Posen, IL; one brother, Henry (Lillian) Kazmierczak of Chicago, IL; her dear friend, Chester Szymanski of New Carlisle, IN; and special friends, Larry and Helen Merkner of New Carlisle, IN. Mrs. Frangella was an active member of St. John Kanty Parish in Rolling Prairie, IN, where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Sodality and the Golden Ages.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM (E.S.T.) Monday, April 14, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM (E.S.T.). Friends may also visit from 10 to 11 AM (E.S.T.) Tuesday, April 15, in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM (E.S.T.) Tuesday, April 15, in St. John Kanty Catholic Church in Rolling Prairie, IN. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
