MISHAWAKA - Services for Edward H.
''Frenchy'' Francis, 96, of West Eighth Street, who died at 1
p.m. Monday in his home of natural causes, will be at 2 p.m.
Friday in St. Monica Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday
in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake service will be
at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Mr. Francis was owner/operator of Frenchy's
Body Shop from 1924 to 1966. He was born July 16, 1897, in
Russia, Ohio, and moved to Mishawaka in 1924.
On July 20, 1918, at Picqua, Ohio, he
married Julia C. Mayo. She died Feb. 20, 1991. Surviving
are two daughters, Dawn Kring and Rosalie Mathias,
both of Mishawaka; two sons, Bernard H. ''Tiny'' and Franklin D.,
both of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;
and five great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Dolores Waumans,
died Feb. 26, 1994. He was a World War I veteran and a member of
the church, American Legion Post 161, Eagles Aerie 2083 and a
charter associate member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91.
