Robert J. Fox, age 75, residing on Union
Avenue, South Bend, IN, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Thursday,
September 13, 2001, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center,
South Bend. Mr. Fox worked at International Harvester and
Gilbert's retiring in 1988 after 40 years of service. Born
October 5, 1925 in South Bend to the late Charles and Mable
(Snyder) Fox, he has lived in this area all of his life.
On June 30, 1946, in South Bend, IN he
married June A. Watkins who survives. Also surviving is a
daughter, Sharon Rae (John) Kruyer of Columbus, OH; two
grandsons, Kevin Kruyer of Columbus, OH and David (Kristin)
Kruyer of Blacklick, OH; one sister, Vera Lewis of
Columbus, OH; and one brother, William Fox of Stewart, FL. One
Daughter, Lynn Diane Fox; two sisters, Ona Fox and Martha Wills;
and one brother, Charles James Fox all preceded in death. Robert
was a lifetime member of the Elks #235; a World War II Navy
Veteran where he served aboard the USS Otis; Mercator Club; Past
President and Treasurer of the Howard Park Senior Citizens Euchre
Club; and a graduate of John Adams High School and the South Bend
College of Commerce. Known for 31 years of serious heart problems
and surgeries, Bob was an inspiration to his family, friends,
doctors and nurses.
As per his request, their will be no
visitation or services. If you wish to remember him, do it with a
kind deed or word to someone who needs you. Cremation has taken
place. We wish him peace without pain. Palmer Funeral Homes is in
charge of arrangements.
