SOUTH BEND - Robert J. Fox, 85, of South Bend, formerly of S. Twyckenham Drive, died Saturday morning in the home of his daughter. Robert was born July 16, 1923, in South Bend, to the late Herbert and Lena (Zangerle) Fox. Robert worked 38 years as a milkman and for 23 years in the JC Penny Men's Dept. On July 23, 1949, in St. Joseph Parish, he married Eleanor June Bishop, who died June 30, 2003. He is survived by a son, Michael P. Fox (Connie Nicodemus) of South Bend; two daughters, Judith (Martin) Tomaszewski of South Bend and Wendelin (Ronald) Schmalkuche of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin), Melanie, Erik (Crissy), Roxanne, Matthew, Alison, James (Shawna) and Becky; great-grandchildren, KK, Joseph, Cameron, Kassie, Shelly, Peyton, Piper Lulu Noelle, Audrey and Anthony Bob enjoyed fishing and telling jokes. He and his late friend Dee had a fishing boat together, "De Bob #2."

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call 2 - 8 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E.
