12, 1923 - Jan. 18, 2010SOUTH BEND - Helen H. Fox, 86, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2010, in her residence. Helen was born on May 12, 1923, in South Bend to the late Andrew and Angela Chmiel. In June 1948 she married Marion H. Fox, who passed away on January 29, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Fox, on January 1, 2009; two sisters, Janice Hershberger and Jean Jeronik; and by her brother, Alex Chmiel. She is survived by her two children, Marcia Fox of South Bend and Douglas (Carmen) Fox of Friendswood, TX; step-daughter, Helen (Claude) Picard of France; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy (Andrew) Erikson of Seattle, WA; and by her brother, Leo (Gizella) Chmiel of South Bend. Helen enjoyed reading, music and studying. She also loved to cook. Memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 25, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where friend and family may gather one hour prior. Cremation will take place.
