Josephine E. Foster, 81, residing on
River Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:24 a.m. on
Wednesday, March 25, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Foster
was born on Nov. 17, 1916, in Berrien County, Mich., to the late
Zora and Hazel (Alcock) Brant, and had lived in
this area all of her life.
On Aug. 5, 1936, in LaPorte, Ind., she
married James W. Foster, who passed away on Nov. 25, 1994. She
was also preceded in death by two daughters, Darlene Banasiewicz
and Ronda Stratton. She is survived by two daughters,
Sandra Charles of Escanaba, Mich., and Wilma Wroblewski
of South Bend; four sons, James R. Foster, Milton Lee Foster,
Thomas J. Foster and Glenn A. Foster, all of South Bend; 16
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and by a brother,
Eugene Brant of Siloam Springs, Ark. Mrs. Foster was retired as a
cook at Jefferson Elementary School after fifteen years of
service. She was also an avid camper.
Services for Mrs. Foster will be at 10:30
a.m. on Saturday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka
Avenue, South Bend. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the
Palmer Funeral Home. Contributions may be offered in Mrs.
Foster's memory to the charity of donor's choice.
