MISHAWAKA – Joseph Forte Sr., 70, of 414 W. 11th Street, a resident of Mishawaka for the last 26 years, died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital. He had been in ill health for the last 10 months and became critically ill Sunday and was taken to the hospital. He was a city employee, who was born in Asiago, Venice, Italy.

He married Mary Civilotti in Clinton, Ind. Sept. 17, 1910. They moved to Mishawaka from Clinton. He was a member of the Di Ameci Club and the Penn Townsip Democratic Club. Surviving are his widow; three sons, John A. Forte, Angelo M. Forte and Joseph F. Forte, all of Mishawaka; two daughter, Mrs. Theresa Nyers of South Bend, and Mrs. Andrew Casper of Niles, Mich; two brothers, Peter Forte of Clinton, and Victor Forte of Venice, Italy; and sis grandchildren.

Friends may call at the DeVos Chapel until the funeral services which will take place at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
