SOUTH BEND - Dorothy W. (Theede) Forshey,
89, of Regency Place Nursing Home died Saturday, September 19,
1998, in Saint Joseph Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Forshey was born on September 12, 1909, in the Village of
Bannesdorf on the Island of Fehman in Germany to Karl and Johanna
(Wilkens) Theede, who preceded her in death. She
was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Fritz and Carl,
and her sister, Emma. Coming from Germany when she was 13 years
old, Mrs. Forshey made her home in South Bend, where she was a
homemaker for 75 years. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia
A. (Garcia) Bratton of Chicago, Illinois and her son,
Robert Bruce Bratton of South Bend, Indiana. She is also
survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Hertha Forslund of South Bend, Indiana,
Freida Slisz of Mishawaka, Indiana and Ann Granat
of Whitter, California.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, September 23, 1998, in Saint Paul Lutheran Church,
South Bend, Indiana, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana. Friends may call from 2 to 4
and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131
Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana, and one hour before services
in the church on Wednesday. Mrs. Forshey was a member of Saint
Paul Lutheran Church for many years. Memorial contributions may
be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund. Hickey
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
