MISHAWAKA - Thomas B. Forrest, 78, of 56263 Currant Road, died at 8:42 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital's emergency room following an illness. Mr. Forrest retired from AM General Corp. in 1980, after 15 years. He was born March 31, 1915, in Grubbs, Ark., moving here in 1942.

On Sept. 5, 1937, in Arkansas, he married Ann M. Polston. She survives with two daughters, Marie Forrest of Bremen, and Debbie Lechlitner of Mishawaka; three sons, Thomas F. of Indianapolis, DeWayne of Osceola, and Carl of Mishawaka; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a stepbrother, Leo Bailey of Arkansas. A son, Eugene, died in 1957. He was a member of the Currant Road Church of Christ and an elder of the church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Currant Road Church of Christ. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
