John P. Forrer

SOUTH BEND - Services for John P. Forrer, 76, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of South Bend, who died Saturday in Hemet Valley Healthcare Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Mr. Forrer retired in 1980 as a layout man from Bendix Aerospace Division after 30 years of service and was the owner of a mobile television repair business. He was born June 27, 1918, in Little Fork, Minn.

On June 27, 1948, in South Bend, he married Elaine Allin. She survives with two daughters, Dianne Devorak of Coral Springs, Fla., and Robin Norton of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; five sons, Fred and Todd ''Ted,'' both of Sacramento, Calif., Richard and Thomas, both of South Bend, and Jon of Oceanside, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cleo Gerardot of New Haven, Ind. A son, Ronald, died in 1976. He was a veteran of World War II and a POW in Germany.
