SOUTH BEND - Robert "Bob" L. Forcier, 73, of South
Bend, passed away Sunday evening, January 3, 2010, in Hospice
House, South Bend. Bob was born March 18, 1936, in Mishawaka, a
son of the late Raymond and Irma (Reygaert) Forcier. He grew up
in Mishawaka and graduated from St. Bavo Grade School. He spent
most of his life in the South Bend / Mishawaka area. On July 18,
1959, Bob married Shirley Tuggle, who passed away in 1977. On
July 22, 1978, Bob married Pearl (Nowak) Skwiercz, who survives.
Other surviving family members include four children, Christopher
Forcier of LaPorte, Jeffery (Tanya) Forcier of Mishawaka, Karen
(Raymond) Smith of Mishawaka and Rick Forcier of Mishawaka; seven
grandchildren, Steven, Kristin, Amanda, Michael, Nicholas,
Brandon and Kalib. Besides his first wife, Bob was also preceded
in death by an infant son, Michael; a daughter, Lorrie Mullins;
and two sisters, Dorothy Kling and Dolores Forcier. Bob was
employed for 30 years with Bendix Corporation. He was a member of
the Catholic faith. Bob enjoyed wood carving, collecting small
cars, and watching Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football. His
family brought him great joy. Friends may spend time with Bob's
family Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals &
Wells Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka. Services
honoring his life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the funeral
home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the Center for
Hospice & Palliative Care. Assistance with memorials is
available in the funeral home.
