Manuel D. Fonseca, 88, of Bradenton,
FL, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away on Wednesday,
February 14, 2007, in the Westminster Towers, Bradenton, FL.
Manuel was born on February 4, 1919, in Providence, RI, to
Antonio and Marie (Dos Anjos) Fonseca. He retired in 1994
as a self-employed barber with Belleville Barber Shop.
On July 3, 1954, in Holy Cross Church, he
married Rosa Mancuso, who survives. Also surviving are
three daughters, Rose Mary (Paul) Chambers of Bradenton,
FL, Diana (Neil) Dockemeyer of South Bend, IN, and Lucy
Fonseca of Oceanside, CA; four grandchildren, Benjamin LaBrake,
Zachary Fonseca-Miller, Timothy (Carinda) Knefely
and Cecelia Dockemeyer; one brother, Chuck Fonseca of Texas; one
sister-in-law, Donna Fonseca of Mishawaka, IN; and many nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and
nephews. Preceding him in death were one sister, Christina
Marques, and one brother, Valentino Fonseca.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Monday, February 19, 2007, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Bradenton, FL. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 10:00
a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home,
3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Manuel was a member of Holy Cross Parish and the Moose Lodge.
"Papa was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and
will be dearly missed". Memorial contributions may be made
to Holy Cross Church.
