MISHAWAKA - Aladino Joseph "Dino" Focosi, 90, of
Mishawaka, passed away at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, in his
home. Dino was born on July 21, 1917, in South Bend, to the late
Albert and Rose (Dunkleberger) Focosi. Dino proudly served
his country during WWII in Squadron A, 326th AAF Base Unit. He
was honorably discharged in 1945. He graduated from Trinidad
Junior College, Trinidad, CO, and worked in tool and die for CG
Conn and then Dodge, from which he retired. He was an
accomplished musician and traveled with numerous big bands after
the war, even playing with Woody Herman and Frank Sinatra. He is
survived by a nephew, Joseph (Rebecca) Balog of Arvada,
CO; great-nephew, Stephen Balog of Arvada, CO; an aunt, Miriam
Dunkleberger of Mishawaka; and several cousins. He was preceded
in death by his parents, and by two sisters, Marjie Focosi and
Eileen (Focosi) Balog.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11
a.m. Saturday, May 31, with services immediately following in the
Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Burial
will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Donations
may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.,
111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
