Sister Mary Delphine CSC, 76, of
Saint Marys Convent, died at 12:10 a.m. today in the
convent after a lengthy illness. Born Delia Flynn in
County Galway, Ireland in 1886, she was educated in Ireland and
entered the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1915. She received the habit
in 1916 and made her final profession of vows in 1921. Most of
her life was spent at Sacred Heart Convent in Lancaster, Pa., and
the Holy Cross Academy in Washington DC.
A requiem high mass will be offered in the
Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Marys at 6 a.m.
Wednesday, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the
campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
